WHO WE ARE

Established in 1961

The year was 1959 - 12 years after independence—when Uday Kishore Sangha was founded at 1 Muktaram Babu Lane. The primary founders of the organization Late Sri Bimal Chandra Dhar and Late Sri Anil Chandra Dhar had the objective to march forward through social welfare activities, and it was during this time that the worship of Goddess Shyama (Kali) began, a tradition that continues to this day. Later, in 1961, the organization's name was changed to Ekta Shilpi Gosthi. That same year, in 1961, a musical band was formed under the banner of Ekta Shilpi Gosthi. Starting its journey from a single room in Muktaram Babu Lane, it has now grown to include over a hundred members accompanying it along the way.

Guided by the endless blessings of Goddess Shyama, and anchored by devotion to service and dedication, Through the collective dedication, love, and effort of all its members, Ekta Shilpi Gosthi upholds its unique prestige and enters to the 65th year of its Maa Kali Puja celebrations. It has earned several prestigious awards and honors, including the "Bangla Utsav Shyama Samman" and the "Deepanwita Samman." In 2025, the organization marked the beginning of a new chapter in its long journey by reinventing itself as a social welfare institution—a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). Through various initiatives in social welfare and human service, the institution continues to stand by the people.
